What concerns the future,  I have decided to put an end to my research activities and will start working for industry soon...

Resume

I am a French researcher working in UK. My main interests are BioInformatics, Artificial Evolution and Machine Learning

I received my MSc in BioInformatics (1999) from the University of Paris 5 (France) and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence (2004) from the University of Nice (France). From 2004 to 2006, I have been funded by the CNES (the French national center for spatial studies) to do post-doctoral research on the ocean color inverse problem at LOV (a French Laboratory studying oceanography). In 2007, I moved to New Zealand to develop new Estimation of Distribution Algorithms for large scale optimization at KEDRI then I had the chance to become a member of Alexei Drummond's group at The University of Auckland where I learned Bayesian Phylogenetic Inference and contributed to the development of the software BEAST.

Since Nov 2009, I am a permanent member of the department of BioMathematics and BioInformatics at Rothamsted Research, where my main activities are:
  • working on the Network Biology and Systems Biology of plants, crops and their pathogens
  • using a metagenomic approach to study the phylogeny and the structure of bacterial communities in the soil
